Data science is an emerging discipline that promises to accelerate healthcare innovation and transform healthcare outcomes. Featuring a line-up of distinguished overseas speakers (US, S. Korea, China, Hong Kong) and local speakers from local institutions and hospitals, this forum provides insights on the latest applications of data science and AI/ML over the healthcare spectrum, such as medical image classification, segmentation, clinical decision making. Co-organised with IEEE EMBS, the world’s largest society of biomedical engineers, and NUS iHealthtech, a top research institute in Singapore with focus areas in precision medicine & smart sensors, this forum attracted 100-120 participants from academia and industry, providing them the opportunity to learn the emerging technologies in the field, gain a global perspective, and a chance to network with distinguished scientists and clinicians. HealthTEC.SG was the organizer of the segment entitled Healthcare Innovation Industry Trends in Asia on the 31 May, 9-11am. In this segment, we had invited our member companies and researchers from the local iHLs to share their research and innovations contributing to the industry trends, and concurrently explore synergies and collaboration opportunities with their regional counterparts.
