Talk Description

Our lab is focused on utilization and implementation of advanced imaging techniques suitable for investigating body composition in metabolic diseases. The study of body fat distribution and ectopic fat accumulation in liver and skeletal muscle is important to understand the pathophysiology of obesity related disorders, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases.  In this talk I will highlight some of our ongoing effort in metabolic imaging and update future directions with mitochondrial metabolism which has the potential to change the clinical paradigm for patients with metabolic disorders.
